Call for reviewers. Help make African cities more sustainable and resilient by reviewing proposals!

International Council for Science in partnership with the Network of African Science Academies, and the International Social Science Council will support 10 col­laborative research projects across Africa in 2017. Deadline for candidatures to review full proposals is 25 November 2016.

International Council for Science in partnership with the Network of African Science Academies, and the International Social Science Council will support 10 col­laborative research projects (to the value of up to 90,000 Euro each over two years) across Africa in 2017, in order to ensure that science can effectively contribute to the implementation of the Urban Agenda in Africa.

These projects are expected to generate new solutions-oriented knowl­edge that will help develop new urban paradigms in Africa and make African cities more resilient, adaptable and healthier.

We are now looking for scientists and non-academic experts with expertise in energy systems, air pollution, health, provision of health services, climate mitigation and adaptation, land use and urban planning, and disaster risk reduction in the urban environment to review full proposals between Nov 2016- mid Jan 2017.

Experience in inter- and transdisciplinary research would be of value.

Guidelines for review will be provided.
