FAO & ITU E-agriculture in Action: Big Data for Agriculture

In continuation of our efforts to promote sustainable ICTs for agriculture and to share knowledge on emerging technologies that holds great promise for agriculture,the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) have released the next in the series of E-agriculture in Action publication.

Titled E-agriculture in Action: Big Data for Agriculture this publication tries to highlight the ecosystem needed to support data driven agriculture with the help of case studies from leading organizations.

This publication looks at how various initiatives are leveraging data, related to agriculture value chains, to influence decision making and efficient service delivery together with addressing key building blocks such as interoperability, data sharing, data security and the necessary policies and regulations that are needed to be implemented to sustain the data ecosystem.
