The AIMS team is pleased to announce the webinar “CKAN as an open-source data management solution for open data". 

This webinar will represent The Comprehensive Knowledge Archive Network (CKAN). The webinar addresses publishers, librarians, information management specialists, software developers, (agricultural) journal editors, related data providers and other interested people.

Abstract

CKAN is a powerful data management system that makes data accessible – by providing tools to streamline publishing, sharing, finding and using data. CKAN is aimed at data publishers (national and regional governments, companies and organizations) wanting to make their data open and available.

Presenter

Ivan Ermilov is coming originally from Russia and graduated from one of the top Saint-Petersburg's universities: Bonch-Bruevich State University of Telecommunications. Having an engineering background, he enrolled into University of Leipzig as PhD student and now being a part of AKSW research group. The main course of research is open data and open data solutions as well as data analysis. As a part of AKSW, he’s been working on SlideWiki - an open platform for collaborative work on presentations, CubeViz - an application for visualization RDF data cubes, CSV2RDF for PublicData.eu portal - solution facilitating csv data integration on large scale and Campus2020 project, which has the main aim of getting new PhD students for University of Leipzig from abroad and supporting them during their career here
