VEST Registry. Vocabularies
All the vocabularies in the VEST Registry are classified by type and subject domain. Most of the Vocabularies are related to indexing. The purpose of indexing is to facilitate the search and finding of the content in a collection by the use of controlled/code lists, authority files or controlled subject vocabularies. The indexing ensures that the content will be found by users when they search specifically in information management systems. There are different type of vocabularies like authority files, classification systems, concept maps, controlled lists, ontologies, taxonomies or subject headings. But under the concept Vocabularies you can find as well dictionaries, encyclopedies, glossaries, lexical databases or topic trees.

Browse
Select any subject on the domains list and type of vocabulary and click Apply. If you only want to browse by type of vocabulary, select only items from the type of vocabulary list and click Apply. While if you want to retrieve all the records under one or more subjects, select only items from the list of domains and click Apply. Environmental Dictionary (EnDic)
The Environmental Dictionary (EnDic) is maintained by the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE). Since 2009 it also contains the MetDic (Meteorological Dictionary) maintaned by the Finnish meteorological institute (FMI).
It contains environmental terms in nine languages: Finnish, Estonian, English, French, German, Swedish, Lithuanian, Latvian and Russian.The dictionary has about 90,000 search words in different languages and provides definitions for 2,000 terms in English, Estonian and Finnish. The 9,000 meteorological terms of the MetDic dictionary are given in Finnish, Swedish and English.
The Environmental Dictionary EnDic covers a wide field of environmental protection and nature conservation, including such areas as meteorology, hydrology, environmental engineering, water supply and wastewater treatment, waste management and the environmental policy of the EU.

The International standard statistical classification of aquatic animals and plants, abbreviated as ISSCAAP, is a nomenclature developed by the United Nations (UN) Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
For statistical purposes, nominal catches of aquatic animals and plants, taken in inland and marine waters or derived from aquaculture, for all kinds of commercial, industrial and subsistence purposes, are presented at either species, genus or family level in approximately 1250 statistical categories called "species items"; these species are classified in 50 groups of species and 9 divisions in ISSCAAP.صوت
