The International Association of Agricultural Information Specialists (IAALD), is a leading global community of practice for information specialists serving agriculture.

IAALD’s mission

IAALD was formed in 1955 in Ghent, Belgium and its mission is to enable its members to create, capture, access and disseminate information to achieve a more  productive and sustainable use of the world’s land, water, and renewable natural resources.

What does IAALD do?

  • IAALD connects a growing community of professionals from more than 75 countries - all with a strong interest in agricultural information and knowledge management.
  • IAALD collaborates with members and many other partner organisations to facilitate learning opportunities. 
  • IAALD communicates and advocates the value of knowledge and information sharing.
  • IAALD convenes agricultural information professionals worldwide through face-to-face meetings and social networking opportunities.
IAALD has held a World Congress every 5 years and numerous regional conferences. It has also sponsored workshops and educational events in many countries and has been a major publisher in Agricultural Information.
