More than 3,000 repositories in BASE

BASE has announced that it has reached two milestones and (i)now indexes more than 60,000,000 OAI-records from (ii) more than 3,000 repositories worldwide. This figure comes as a result of 250 new repositories indexed in 2014 indicating the importance of repositories. This increase makes BASE now one of the largest academic search engines crawling repositories and e-journals sources.

About BASE

BASE is operated by Bielefeld University Library and is OAI-PMH compliant. Users can access the full text of about 75% of the indexed documents. The index is continuously enhanced by integrating further OAI sources as well as local sources.
