Information scientist with 17 years’ experience in management of information and documentation digital systems or databases, and 14 years’ experience in IRTA as an information and documentation expert, developing and conducting high quality information retrieval to inform systematic reviews. Last 10 years working in the IRTA’s Watching Technology and Business Intelligence Unit developing analysis of scientific, technology, business and market data for decision making and collaborating in European research projects as specialist of data management and analysis of strategic information to improve the competitiveness of the food and agriculture industry.

What is your relationship with agricultural information management standards, tools and services?
As a librarian and information scientist in an agriculture research institute in Spain, I am user of this kind of information systems. But at the same time, I am working to build information and knowledge systems in my organization. So, metadata standards and controlled vocabularies are essential to build interoperability systems, share and look for information.
