RDA TAB - Call for candidates

The Research Data Alliance (RDA)'s Technical Advisory Board (TAB) is looking for "technically savvy people form different domains and regions, to ensure RDA stays technically balanced and effective."

The TAB will consist of 12 members: six interim and six elected members. The interim members have been already nominated by the RDA Council, the call for candidates for the elected members is open now!

How do you particpate in the RDA TAB election?

Candidates are invited to send a short biography of less than 300 words, a photo and a 200 word description of what added value they can provide to the RDA TAB and why they should be elected to TAB by 30 August.

This should be sent to [email protected]. All candidates will then be invited to make a short presentation of their candidacy during the RDA Second Plenary Session on 16 September 2013 in Washington. Voting will take place after the plenary and will be done electronically, all RDA members can vote. Those elected will have a term of office for 2 years.

What is the role of RDA TAB?

The TAB provides technical expertise and advice to the Council, as well as helping in the development of Working Groups case statements and outputs to promote their impact and effectiveness. The TAB is responsible for the technical approach of the RDA and the development and maintenance of an RDA Technical Roadmap document. 

RDA vision: sharing and using research data without barriers

The purpose of the RDA is to accelerate international data-driven innovation and discovery by facilitating research data sharing and exchange, use and re-use, standards harmonization, and discoverability. This will be achieved through the development and adoption of infrastructure, policy, practice, standards, and other deliverables.
