3. Since 2015, AIMS has delivered Spanish Training Courses under the title: Introduction to Research Data Management

The idea of an online course on data management - aimed specifically at users in Latin America - came about at the San Diego RDA Meeting (2015) to:

  • introduce Spanish speakers - involved in agricultural research - to new trends on data management;
  • train different professionals to outline roadmaps of research data management for researchers, information professionals and the individual research facilities.

Within the scope of these targeted courses, free access to related audio-visual material (including videos and webinars) has been provided and interviews with course participants have been conducted and disseminated. Moreover, best practices related to the course thematic have been carefully screened and discussed (e.g. i-Marine, Dataverse, Figshare, EUDAT, the Agricultural Data Interest Group (IGAD) of the Research Data Alliance (RDA), CIMMYT, Global Bioversity Information Facility).
