Short bio:
Attended IISAST meeting of 2007 and e-Agric Conf. Been very interested in the proposed set of standards on the AIMS website. A bit disappointed that the other standards proposed (experts, projects, statistical, technologies etc.) do not seem to have been worked on in the past couple of years. The list was there until mid 2009, now its hidden somewhere in the website.
I have been involved with the development of the SADC-AIMS programme and portal (aims.sadc.int) which uses web-based tool to bring together data and info from various sources. Still being developed but conceptually very sound - a lot of reflection has gone into it!
I am now at the CTA looking into strengthening capapcity of ACP institutions in Information, Communication and Knowledge Management (ICKM) in agricultural and rural development
