What are your domain(s) of expertise?

Food security and livelihoods, small scale farming system, access to market, food safety, agribusiness, evaluation, RBM, project management

What is your relationship with agricultural information management standards, tools and services?

Being an evaluator and an evaluation manager I do understand and share the importance of knowledge management and o sharing lessons learning and experiences with others. I do use different sort of methodology depending on the evaluation I have to carry out. I use many tools when analyzing and assessing a certain aspect of FAO's programme, starting with desk reviews, meta analysis and meta evaluation, followed by more participatory approaches with communities and actors at different levels (national, local, international, etc) through focus group discussions, individual interviews, rural appraisal, etc. to triangulate the information. Once data are collected we start a team analysis process first with the evaluation team and then with the programme team concerned by the evaluation (the client) to better refine our preliminary findings and share with them the initial feedback and perception we've heard and seen in the field. Our evaluation report is then shared with all concerned stakeholders hoping they will find it useful to improve the way their work, Depending on the type of project we evaluate, agricultural information and the process behind it are key for our knowledge and are often object of our evaluations, especially with regards to the way agricultural information is collected, analysed, shared and diffused through users and partners and the impact the process has on decision making at different levels.
