AIMS at Agricultural Ontology Service (AOS) 2012

The two-day Agricultural Ontology Service (AOS) 2012 Workshop finished yesterday in Kuching, Malaysia.

The 2012 edition focused on works that address real-world problems by using semantic technologies in conjunction with any type of knowledge organization systems (KOS), for the management of agricultural information.

Johannes Keizer of FAO held the presentation "AgInfra. Elements for an information infrastructure in Agricultural research and Innovation". The AGROVOC team was involved in the following papers:

  • AGROVOC as Knowledge Organization Model applied to Brazilian Agricultural Intensification Processes
  • Framework for Matching and Linking Large Ontologies
  • Development of AGROVOC Plug-in for Dspace
  • Is ISO 639 enough for multilingual thesauri?

AOS 2012 is part of Knowledge Technology Week 2012 (KTW2012), which takes place in Kuching, Malaysia, on 3-7 September 2012 and collocated with other relevant events, like DC 2012.
