Access to Scientific Information in the Global South: Partnering for Action

FAO is pleased to invite you to the side event titled “Access to Scientific Information in the Global South: Partnering for Action”. This side event has been organized in the framework of the FAO Science and Innovation Forum.

During the session, initiatives managed by UN agencies and other stakeholders that support low-income countries to strengthen evidence-based decision making will be presented, especially on research and policies related to agrifood systems transformation. The objective is to discuss the actions currently in place to facilitate the information and knowledge exchange, the benefits, and how these initiatives are contributing to analyzing options for strengthening science and evidence-based decision-making.

This side event is directly contributing to the accessibility and dissemination of academia research outputs and data related to food and agriculture, with a focus on the exchange of knowledge and information as a critical step to achieving the SDGs.

The panel has been organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, International Science Council, Elsevier Foundation, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan, and Research4Life.
