The AIMS Community has now more than 1,900 registered members from all over the world. The 1,900th user was registered on the 30th of June 2014.

AIMS supports Open Access and Open Data in the agricultural domain by developing and disseminating standards, tools and good practices to agricultural stakeholders, including farmers, extensionists , researchers and policy makers to access agricultural research and information. Therefore, AIMS functions as;

• platform offering advice on how best to manage, disseminate, share and exchange agricultural scientific data and information.
• reference for good practices widely applicable
• community of practice centered on interoperability, reusability and cooperation
• capacity buidling vehicle through online, face-to-face meetings and workshops and online sessions in form of Webinars@AIMS.
