Integrating IFPRI's Linked Open Data in the FAO Country profiles

LODThe Global Hunger Index (GHI) adopted and further developed by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is now available on the key statistics box of FAO Country Profiles. The GHI is a multidimensional statistical tool used to describe the state of countries’ hunger situation.

IFPRI publishes the Global Hunger Index dataset as Linked Open Data (LOD), using RDF standards. With the recent publication of the FAO's Geopolitical Ontology in RDF-LOD version and today the incorporation of this external open dataset to the key statistics box, the FAO Country profiles portal is making another step towards the W3C Linked Open Data initiative.

When available, the index is displayed in the Key statistics box of a FAO country profile. For example Chad: http://www.fao.org/countryprofiles/index.asp?lang=en&ISO3=TCD.
