Release plan for the FAO Open Archive and follow-up projects

The new FAO Open Archive (FAO OA) is a digital repository that will manage all official FAO publications, integrating both cataloguing and electronic publishing workflows. It will replace the existing Electronic Information Management System (EIMS) and Corporate Document Repository (CDR) that have been in place now for over 10 years.

As the final release date approaches, OEK has prepared a release plan to update FAO Departments on the upcoming changes. Also included in this schedule are the following FAO OA related projects:

  • re-engineering EIMS to support the FAO OA electronic publishing workflow
  • creating a specialized search for all FAO official documents
  • implementing a digital preservation strategy for FAO publications
