EIFL’s Public Library Innovation Programme (EIFL-PLIP) has announced the winners of the first Innovation Award – for library services that improve community economic wellbeing.

The winners are:

• Africa - Kawempe Youth Centre in Uganda for their ICT and financial literacy education service.
• Asia - Agyauli Community Library and Resource Centre in Nepal for their Equitable Access to Information service which improves farmers’ yields and livelihoods.
• Europe - Belgrade City Library in Serbia for their Novcici service that improves financial literacy.
• Latin America - Public Library No. 56 El Bollenar in Chile for the Moonlight Women’s Workshop, which uses modern ICT and traditional handicrafts to improve women’s income.
