I work as Information, Documentation and Communication Assistant in the ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for Central and Eastern Europe in Budapest coordinating the communication activities of the ILO in the region and managing its Information Center (library). I am responsible to manage the information services and improve the knowledge sharing practices of the ILO Budapest Office. I am responsible for cataloguing the collection of the ILO Budapest library. As result, our collection is now wholly catalogued: the oldest part is still in a local database, but 90 per cent of our holdings are available through the database of ILO Geneva Library. I know the ILO cataloguing practices, including MARC format in addition to the ILO Thesaurus and Taxonomy. In addition to other library services, I provide all kind of comprehensive information services using print or electronic resources. My responsibilities include responding to information requests coming from the public or ILO officials on economic and labour market data as well as on the ILO's work in person or remotely using the Internet and various databases available to ILO field offices. Recently I was assigned with the task to improve the knowledge sharing practice of the ILO Budapest office, and customize the European region’s plone, knowledge sharing platform to the office’s needs. Since 2002 I have been working as a webeditor and content manager of the official website of the ILO Budapest Office (http://www.ilo.org/budapest) using a dynamic web content management system, WCMS.
