What are your domain(s) of expertise?
I am a Food Safety Expert working with the TAIEX - Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument, (Joint Research Center, JRC) European Commission. I currently serve as Country Representative and National Coordinator Southern Caucasus Countries of the Coalition for Sustained Excellence in Food and Health Protection, GCSE -Food and Health Protection Country Representative. My research interests include quantitative microbial risk assessment and food microbiology including GMO Analyze and Detection, Biodiversity Conservation (Genes Bank). I have been Leading Specialist of the Agrarian Issues Committee at the Parliament of Georgia from 1996 to 2000. Thereafter, I completed an internship in Genetic and in vitro tissue cultures at California State University.
What is your relationship with agricultural information management standards, tools and services?
I was awarded his PhD in Agricultural Sciences in 2006 by the Georgian State Agricultural University. From 2005-2010 I worked on the position as Director of the Biotechnology Center of Georgia at the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia for the life sciences. In 2010 I was selected by the competitive commission as Head of the Sustainable Development Department at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia. I am a President of Association for Farmers Rights Defense, AFRD and was engaged in a different Agricultural Projects, Education, Training, Law Making, Sustainable Development, Organic Farming and number of Rural Youth Projects. I am an author of a large number of analytica l publications for the Organic Farming, Sustainable Development, Climate Change and Draft-Bill on Farmers Cooperatives in Georgia. I am strongly engaged in strengthening the research and innovation. I have been a speaker of over 60 conferences, and Chair of about 10 conferences including Program Chair of 6 recently held local conferences. I am a full Member and Country Representative of European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists (EAERE), Member of EuroScience, Member of Public Research and Regulation Initiative, PRRI, EuroScience, Member of the Honorable Board of the Advanced Materials and the Applied Nanotechnology Group (AMANTG) Nobel Project, European Biotechnology Federation (EFB), Planta Europa, DesertNet International (UNCCDUnited Nations Convention to Combat Desertification), Greeneconomy Institute (Oxford University), International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA).
