VocBench multi-lingual, vocabulary editing and management tool developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in collaboration with Kasetsart University in Bangkok and ICRISAT in Hyderabad. It is hosted by our partner MIMOS Berhad.

Designed to handle thesauri, authority lists, classification schemes and glossaries, it permits a globally distributed group of editors and terminologists to manage AGROVOC, the world’s largest multi-lingual agricultural vocabulary.

Not only an editor, VocBench manages publication workflows and editorial processes such as publishing statuses, validation and versioning. In addition VocBench features a flexible set of over three dozen web services that permit other applications to query VocBench vocabularies and seamlessly add rich indexing capabilities to their own interfaces. Already now VocBench is hosting beside AGROVOC other subject and entity vocabularies.

With the release of the VocBench FAO and the publication of AGROVOC LOD and it partners have set an important milestone to create an interoperability infrastructure for agricultural information.
