CDAIS : Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation Systems Project
[TAP Framework: CDAIS has supported the development of the common framework on agricultural innovation systems through the Tropical Agricultural Platform/TAP].
CDAIS project - launched in 2015 - is a global partnership on Capacity Development for agricultural innovation systems. The project is supported by the European Union and implemented by Agrinatura (a consortium of 31 European universities and research institutes), and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
While operating in eight pilot countries (in Africa, Asia and Latin America), CDAIS aims at making agricultural innovation systems more efficient and sustainable in meeting the demands of farmers, agri-business and consumers, to improve food security.
"Capacity development is needed, to ensure that investments in agricultural research for development are able to generate sustainable returns. Capacity development efforts should focus on multi-stakeholder processes and open innovation partnerships, and not be restricted to individual research organizations or higher education institutes" - CDAIS, Agricultural Innovations. |
The European Commission is financially supporting a project to strengthen capacities to innovate in Africa, Asia and Central America. The project is officially called the Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation Systems (CDAIS). It is being implemented jointly by Agrinatura (Agrinatura-EEIG Task Team), FAO (FAO Task Forse) and national partners in the 8 pilot countries (Angola, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, Laos and Rwanda).
