Expert consultation on future of Agricultural Knowledge Resource Centres

A really interesting event is taking place between 17-19 of November 2014: the Expert consultation on future of Agricultural Knowledge Resource Centres in ACP (African Caribbean & Pacific) Regions is organized by the Technical Centre for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA), located at Wageningen, The Netherlands.

This meeting is organized in the context of CTA’a implementation of its Strategic Plan 2011-2015 to strengthen capacity of ACP institutions in Information, Communication and Knowledge Management, in order to allow (and stimulate) discussions on the future of agricultural knowledge resource centres – the meeting is themed “What can we achieve together?”, emphasizing on active discussions and exchange of ideas among the participants. The purpose of the meeting is to bring together CTA partners operating at global and regional level to discuss and better understand how the agricultural knowledge resource centres (KRC) will provide their services given the convergence of technologies, services and channels, as well as the dynamic needs of their stakeholders operating within different agricultural themes. The consultation will comprise taking stock of the current trends, the potential solutions offered by new technologies and collective reflection on scenarios for the functioning of agricultural KRC in the future.
