The FAIR principles have been introduced as a guideline for good scientific data stewardship. They have gained momentum at a management level and are now for example part of the project template for EU Horizon 2020 projects. This raises the question what research groups and projects can do to implement them. Hugo Besemer will introduce the ideas behind the FAIR principles.
Hugo Besemer
studied plant Protection at Wageningen University, and has been active in different capacities in the Dutch Agricultural Knowledge System. Recently he has been concentrating on research data management.
He has also been working as a consultant for many international organizations including DFID, CTA, CGIAR and INASP. For FAO he has been doing a variety of things, including curriculum development and authoring lessons for IMARK modules, and for them he wrote his first AGRIS input manual with a pen.
