The BigDataEurope project has set up a survey to identify current and future challenges for Big data and data management in the seven H2020 societal challenge topics. One of the societal challenge is around “Food security, sustainable agriculture and forestry, marine and maritime and inland water research, and the Bioeconomy”.

The primary objective of the survey will be to elicit requirements for a big data integrator platform that will support big data aggregators for the different societal challenges. This platform will offer to the interested parties the opportunities of the latest European RTD developments, including real-time streaming, multilingual data harvesting, data analytics and data visualization.

The survey will investigate on how this development should be shaped to the specific pre-conditions and needs in sectors like Health, Pharma, Climate, Energy, Agriculture, Well-being, Society and Security. On the second page of the survey, you will be asked to select the societal challenge of your interest: many of the questions will be specific to the area you choose.

The survey will be followed within one month or so by an invitation to participate in a face-to-face workshop to further discuss needs and requirements. The workshop will most likely take place in Paris, co-located with the Research Data Alliance 6th Plenary meeting.
