About the Open Data Barometer

The Open Data Barometer (ODB) aims to uncover the true prevalence and impact of open data initiatives around the world. It analyses global trends, and provides comparative data on countries and regions via an in ­depth methodology combining contextual data, technical assessments and secondary indicators to explore multiple dimensions of open data readiness, implementation and impact. The ODB forms part of the World Wide Web Foundation’s work on common assessment methods for open data.

Expectations

Researchers should have the ability to produce high quality results following the research handbook and providing strong desk research and web search skills; an understanding of open data; and working knowledge of the countries they are willing to research. Researchers should be proficient in both, english and the official language of any country they opt to research. Reliable Internet connectivity is also required to perform the research tasks.
