The CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) is set to launch a new, exciting initiative, Accelerating the Impact of CGIAR Climate Research for Africa (AICCRA) during a webinar on 17 May from 14:00 to 15:30 CEST. The kick-off event, ‘A climate-smart African future driven by science and innovation in agriculture,’ is set to feature several influential speakers who will introduce AICCRA’s goals and objectives , roll-out plan and expected impact and influence of the new initiative.
AICCRA will have the ability to increase access to climate information services and climate-smart agriculture technologies in Africa. The hope for the new initiative is that farmers and others working in the agricultural field will have an increased ability to understand and anticipate climate-related events. This, in turn, will create an increased knowledge and understanding of how to take preventative precautions and help communities better safeguard their livelihoods and the environment.
More information and the full agenda for the kick-off event are available here.
