In order to simplify the installation of AgriOcean DSpace, the easy installer version for windows was developed and its files can be downloaded from Google Code. However, there are some common errors that users can experience during the AgriOcean DSpace software installation process. Some of the common errors include:-

Warning during download from Google Code.

After having clicked the following file 'AgriOceanSetup_<version>.exe', from the Google Code platform; windows explorer is prone to giving the following  security message.

Error: Download could harm your computer

Solution: Since the AgriOcean DSpace platform on Google Code is a trusted source, therefore, it is safe to download the file.

Error during download: corrupted installation file

Sometimes downloads can go wrong and results in a corrupted file, the following error message is displayed.

Solution: Simply download again!!

Tomcat does not start up

The first time after installation Tomcat should start automatically.However, some users experience the following error.

Error: Unable to connect to the local server at localhost:8080

Solution: Also note that sometimes Localhost maybe blocked by Internet Explorer. You can try to start Tomcat from the Windows Program Menu or from the Task Bar. If the Windows requests administrator rights run it as Administrator.(See Fig.3 Below).

To set up Tomcat to start up automatically choose the Configure Tomcat , in the Windows Program Menu.

This error is a result of connection problems between Tomcat and Postgresql. This normally results when the password used for postgresql administrator is not reused in the AgriOcean DSpace ( See Fig. 5)

Solution: It is highly recommended to install the data directory of postegresql outside the program files and windows directories. The easiest solution is to uninstall and reinstall the AgriOcean DSpace application.
