I am presently preparing our Agridrupal 7 based information center. As the majority of users, farmers, farmer organisations and service providers, are non-academic non-research, I am adapting parts of the Agridrupal setup. For my users to easier navigate through all options, I was thinking of pruning AGROVOC, and importing the short-list in my local vocabulary.

This short-list then serves for putting our Agrotagger and content crawlers at work. Same short-list is for registered users to indicate their personal fields of interest.

My question: what do you think of such short-listing activity. Would that work, or would it rather complicate Agridrupal's setup?

Or, because short-listing the thousands of AGROVOC terms may be too labourious, is there a linkage between the AGRIS Subject Categories and AGROVOC? Hoping that by taking out some not used AGRIS subjects, automatically prunes the related AGROVOC terms.
