The Research Data Alliance Interest Group for Agricultural Data (IGAD) is set to launch a new webinar series called the IGAD Coffee Break, with the objective to create an ongoing dialogue and encourage the exchange of experiences on agricultural research and innovation within the IGAD community and beyond.

In order to support this new initiative, the IGAD co-chairs are seeking 15-minute virtual presentation proposals on the below topics of interest to the IGAD community. Presenters will also benefit from participating by receiving increased visibility to research and work in agricultural data. Please note, as an attempt to grow the IGAD community, the IGAD co-chairs plan to give priority to presentations submitted from those who have not presented to IGAD before. However, long-time participants are still welcome and encouraged to submit proposals.

  • Agricultural data infrastructure project status
  • New ideas for the emerging RDA IGAD community of practice
  • Agri semantics and applications
  • CARE principles for agricultural research data
  • Precision agricultural data standards
  • Farmer data codes of conduct, etc.
  • Agricultural research data training
  • FAIR data implementations

Interested participants should email [email protected] with their name and bio, title or topic of the proposed presentation, along with an abstract for the presentation. The deadline for submissions is 28 May 2021.

Every webinar in the IGAD Coffee Break series will last 30 minutes, with the structure of a 15-minute presentation, followed by 15 minutes of discussion.  Through this format, participants of each webinar will have the opportunity to ask important questions and support the need for networking, to ensure that these meaningful conversations extend beyond the webinar series.

Every session will also be recorded for those who cannot attend.
