Arabterm.org is an initiative of ALECSO and supported by GIZ, to provide a standardized technical terminology in Arabic. Arabterm.org is organized per industry sector. Currently 2 volumes are available online (Water technologies & Automotive engineering) and some 14 more are planned.

The Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO) and the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ) will move Arabterm.org into Linked Data. AGROVOC is the first candidate for linking to Arabterm after its conversion into RDF/SKOS, and VocBench may be used for Arabterm - Linked Data maintenance. It is also possible that AGROVOC and Arabterm collaborate on the quality control of the Arabic content of AGROVOC. This is one of the main outcomes of a workshop that was organized by GIZ last September in Amman, Jordan. More news to be expected in the coming months.
