Workshop Information Management: Institutional Repositories in a Network Environment
As part of the project Network cooperation in Cuba: ICT coordinated by the Universidad Central Marta Abreu de las Villas (UCLV), the workshop on Institutional Repositories in a Network Environment will take place at the Hasselt University Library from 9th to 29th March 2014.
Network cooperation in Cuba: ICT focuses on human capacity building through high-impact researches pertinent to economic and social priorities of the country, all related to ICT. The Network programme groups the knowledge and know-how of six Cuban universities:

The upcoming workshop focuses on the definition of the standards to use for the Cuban institutional repositories, the development path for DSpace as software for the Cuban Network, the preparation of a repository policy (national – institutional) and an introduction to research network solutions.
The participants are primarily information managers who will manage the institutional repositories (technical administration and policy) and software developers who are in charge of the customization of the institutional repository software and of the development of the repository network.
AIMS topics and recommendations are part of the workshop program as Linked Open Data in the context of Agriculture, recommendations on how to select appropriate encoding strategies for producing Linked Open Data (LOD)-enabled bibliographic data and AgriOcean DSpace.
