The next webinar part of the Research Data Alliance Interest Group for Agricultural Data (IGAD)’s new Coffee Break initiative will take place on 30 June from 13:00 to 13:30 CEST. The webinar, titled Agricultural market dynamics based on data evidence will feature Luiza Petrosyan, Universitat Politécnica de Valencia.
During this webinar, Luiza Petrosyan will present her research on the evolution of agricultural products and their commercial supply through existing data. Luiza will introduce a systematic protocol for downloading data from several sources that generates a sufficient mass of information to automatically establish analysis parameters.
Providing current, reliable and sustainable, and automated data is essential for verifying the information that is transmitted and for political or economic decision-making. The research she is conducting aims to build a monitoring and analysis KPI tool, and the results will be made public in the framework of the DATAUSE project.
The chosen research case is coffee, and the sources used so far are AGRELMA, ALIBABA and TWITTER. The structured data of marketplaces allows to identify information about the producers, traders, countries, prices, and sales conditions.
The analysis of structured and textual data from social networks reveals interesting details about for example the most active accounts, the relevant topics, and the relationships between market players.
The relationship between the two sources of data will make it possible to characterise the dynamics of the coffee market and to build the actors' real profiles.
Registration is now open. Interested participants can register for the webinar here. |
