This event for the partners and friends of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data will focus on driving action and fostering strong links that will lead to improved outcomes as the Global Partnership community looks ahead, in the short term to UNGA73 and the World Data Forum (October 2018; see Call for Sessions; deadline 31 January 2017) and in the longer term to the years ahead to 2030.
The Data for Development festival will be the inaugural in-person gathering of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data.
It is an exciting chance to exchange ideas with partners from around the world, generate new collaborations, and explore the impact of emerging technology on people's lives.
This event provides an opportunity to participate in numerous thematic events, network with the global data community, meet representatives of the Global Partnership’s new Board and Technical Advisory Group, and shape the partnership's future.
We hope that each of the 280 member organizations of the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data will be represented in person.

Goal 17: Partnerships For The Goals : We need data ...... to hold governments, companies, and people to account and meet the Sustanaible Development Global Goals (SDGs) and commitments they have made. We have already made great progress by cutting extreme poverty in half. This is thanks to poor countries boosting their economies at home as well as rich countries increasing aid. Now we need to get going, keep track of how we are doing, and charge towards 2030 with the vision of what our world could be. Partnerships are at the heart of delivering the Global Goals. The Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data brings together governments, international organizations, companies, civil society groups, and statistics and data communities who represent all sectors of society and all regions of the world, dedicated to achieving the Global Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. Interoperability is not just about technology...... standards, but also knowledge-sharing, the development of sustainable (sub)national capacity and systems, harnessing political support for data, and increasing investments in information and official statistical production”, - Global Partnership for Sustainable Development Data. |
