FAO, Research4Life and ITOCA to Empower New Trainers with ‘Training of Trainers’ Workshop Aimed to Increase Capacity Development Efforts
A new, specialized training workshop aimed at empowering and developing the skills of new trainers to obtain the Research4Life Training Certification is set to take place in the autumn of 2020. The new workshop, funded by Research4Life and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in collaboration with the Information Training & Outreach Centre for Africa (ITOCA), is aimed to develop the capacities of new trainers through learning effective training approaches, sharing best practices and to share peer to peer experiences with potential and existing users of Research4Life.
A blended learning approach will be employed to deliver the course, combining a virtual delivery over one month and a three day face-to-face workshop in Zimbabwe in the autumn of 2020. By empowering and providing the knowledge and skills for new trainers to receive their Research4Life training certification, the new trainers, in Research4Life eligible institutions, will be prepared with the materials to run their own local workshops. This will allow them to support the continued goal of equipping existing and potential users of the available Research4Life programmes with the knowledge and skills required to access and use the information effectively and efficiently.
More about this programme will be shared in the second half of the year. If you have any question about ‘training of trainers’ workshop please contact: [email protected]
