Agricultural Ontology Services (AOS) Workshop 2011
AOS Workshop 2011 in Bangkok (Thailand)
Language and Ontology Engineering for Service Research Innovation
7-8 December 2011
Bangkok, Thailand
King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, Kasetsart University, and the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) are pleased to host The Joint International Symposium on Natural Language Processing and Agricultural Ontology Service 2011 (SNLP-AOS 2011). The Symposium on Natural Language Processing (SNLP) is an international conference held biannually since 1993 with the cooperative eort of a number of universities in Thailand. The purpose of SNLP is to promote research in Natural Language Processing by bringing together researchers and practitioners in the field to exchange ideas and present results from research in Natural Language Processing and various related fields. This year the SNLP conference will be held jointly with the Agriculture Ontology Service (AOS) conference.
Ontology is the groundwork for the semantic web technique framework and plays critical role in the process of knowledge engineering. In 2000, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) initiated the program of Agricultural Ontology Service (AOS), aiming to establish standards and develop tools to enhance the eective agricultural knowledge service and collaboration around the world. Eleven-year’s implementation and effort have achieved significant achievement and the application potential of agriculture ontology has been recognized. In order to advocate this process further, to satisfy the requirement on the effective sharing, organizing, managing and merging the agricultural information resource in an open, inter-connected semantic environments, the 2011 International Symposium on Agricultural Ontology Service (AOS2011) will be joint with SNLP and will be held on December 7th-9th, Bangkok, Thailand.
