A total of 15 participants from COAR, the COAR Interest Group on Controlled Vocabularies, AIMS and CARL joined the webinar about CASRAI on July 7, 2014. Kathleen Shearer and Jochen Schirrwagen briefly introduced the various COAR activities regarding repository interoperability and the interest group on controlled vocabularies.

Then David Baker, Executive Director of CASRAI, introduced CASRAI and the context of this initiative - the information sharing landscape among diverse stakeholders (such as researchers, institutions, libraries or funders). Improving the data flow within and between organizations is the central mission and to this respect CASRAI offers a platform to bring interested parties together in topical projects, like data management plans, authority files, OA finance reporting, metrics and others. These topics and the discussion at the end of the webinar should be continued between COAR, CASRAI and other initiatives.
