DSpace to release version 3.0 soon

DSpace is set to release a new version of DSpace 3.0 which is expected soon (this October or November). The DSpace 3.0 release candidate can be viewed here. The current version is DSpace version 1.8.2 and there will be a migration path for users upgrading from the current version to the 3.0 release. In line with this new realease, DSpace Developers will be changing the release numbering scheme. Release numbers will now consist of two numbers: [major].[minor] (e.g. 3.0, 3.1, 4.0).

- Completely rewritten OAI-PMH interface.
- Item Level Versioning
- Enhancements to Discovery (including hit highlighting & search snippets)
- Discovery for JSPUI
- Advanced Embargo Support
- Batch import for Bibliographic formats (Endnote, BibTex, RIS, TSV, CSV)
- Google Analytics support for JSPUI
- Controlled Vocabulary support for XMLUI
- Type based Submissions.
- Better encryption for locally stored passwords.
