Repository of International Labour Organization uses Invenio
07/08/2013
The International Labour organization (ILO) of the United Nations (UN) is using Invenio − a free, open-source software to run a document repository on the web − for its institutional repository Labordoc.
Labordoc
Labordoc contains the digital version of the vast majority of ILO publications since 1919, more than 80,000. The collection is full-text searchable and freely available on the web.
Invenio
The technology offered by the Invenio software covers all aspects of digital library management from document ingestion through classification, indexing, and curation to dissemination. Invenio complies with standards such as the Open Archives Initiative metadata harvesting protocol (OAI-PMH) and uses MARC 21 as its underlying bibliographic format. The flexibility and performance of Invenio make it a comprehensive solution for management of document repositories of moderate to large sizes (Resource: "About Invenio," http://invenio-software.org).
