‘The Open Access Textbooks’: A model for open access books

17/12/2012
The ‘Open Access textbook model’, recently revised, is designed to develop and offer strategies to establish open access books for academic use. This model is spearheaded by the State University System of Florida  (US) with support from the Fund for the Improvement of Post-secondary Education (FIPSE).

The specific objectives of the model are to reduce textbook costs for students, to increase recognition of Faculty through Open Access publishing, and to facilitate greater accessibility and flexibility of educational materials.

This resource has been added to the AIMS Open Access resource pages for institutions intending to advocate and create similar models in the agricultural domain.
