The AIMS community is advised that papers are accepted by the Workshop on Integration of Heterogeneous dAta sources and on onTologiEs in Life Science and Environment (WHATELSE, ICCS 2014) until the 1st of June,2014. The aim of this workshop is to bring together computer scientists from knowledge engineering and experts in life sciences and environment.
Topics
The workshop welcomes papers dealing with theoretical, methodological, experimental and application-oriented aspects of knowledge engineering applied to life sciences and environment. In particular, but not exclusively, we solicit papers about methods, tools and methodologies relevant with regard to the following topics:
- Ontology engineering (construction, alignment, mapping, evolution)
- Ontology metrics
- Knowledge representation
- Data integration
- Knowledge acquisition
- Semantic annotation
- Semantic Web
- Linked Open Data and Linked Open Vocabularies
