BACKGROUND

This webinar will introduce how to submit data to AGRIS - from the selection of metadata to the creation of xml files. AGRIS (the International System for Agricultural Science and Technology) is a multilingual bibliographic database with more than 10 million structured bibliographical records on agricultural science and technology. It contains theses, conference papers, government publications, unique grey literature such as unpublished scientific and technical reports, etc.

Since 1975, AGRIS is maintained by FAO to serve users from developed and developing countries through facilitating access to available knowledge in agriculture, science and technology.

More than 400 data providers from all over the world have already submitted data to AGRIS and the team regularly receives requests from new potential data providers to join the network. This webinar will support new and potential data providers to ensure a smooth creation and submission of readable and complete metadata in xml format. It will present step-by-step instructions on how xml files that include the required metadata can be created with free reference management tools such as Mendeley.
