The Agricultural Information Management Registry of Vocabularies, Metadata Sets and Tools (VEST Registry)
The VEST Registry is a catalogue of controlled vocabularies, metadata sets and tools managed by the Agricultural Information Management Standards (AIMS) team.
AIMS shares and promotes the use of common methods, standards and tools in agricultural information systems for the support of the right to food, sustainable agriculture and rural development.
The VEST Registry contributes to the above mentioned scope by providing a clearing house for tools, metadata sets and vocabularies used in food, agriculture, development, fisheries, forestry and natural resources information management context.
The VEST Registry contains controlled vocabularies - such as authority files, classification systems, concept maps, controlled lists, dictionaries, ontologies or subject headings - metadata sets - metadata element sets, namespaces and application profiles- and tools - such as library management software, content management systems or document repository software.
The VEST Registry interface gives the possibility to search in the 3 categories and browse by keyword or phrase. Currently it contains 171 results in the three arguments.
Our aim is to expand and maintain this current list and serve as a main information source in the field. In case you are interested in contributing and you know any other vocabulary, metadata set or tool related to agricultural information management not yet included in the registry please do not hesitate to contact us. Your contribution and effort to further develop the VEST Registry is highly appreciated.
