Focus on Webinars@AIMS

Webinars@AIMS are an initiative to build capacity within the community through online interactive activities such as online seminars. Institutional members of the CIARD movement sponsor the Webinars@AIMS with the collaboration of the AIMS Team. These webinars were started as an Open Access activity in 2012, and their demand steadily increased. Today the Webinars@AIMS are a specific service offered to the AIMS Community members and other interested information workers.

Webinars are carried out on any day of the week, and their scheduling adapts to the needs of users in different countries. Sessions are recorded and can be viewed at the user's convenience at Webinar@AIMS  or on the AIMS YouTube account. Webinars have been conducted in English, French, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish and Russian.

Webinars@AIMS cover a broad range of topics of interest for information workers related to open access, open data, vocabularies, metadata, tools, Linked Data and any theme about agricultural information management. Furthermore, any community member can send suggestions for new topics to [email protected].

  • The CIARD Movement launches a newly redesigned website with a fresh new look and user-friendly navigation, updated with the latest information about CIARD and the CIARD Community. More info
  • As part of the project Network cooperation in Cuba: ICT coordinated by the Universidad Central Marta Abreu de las Villas (UCLV), the workshop on Institutional Repositories in a Network Environment took place at the Hasselt University. More info
  • The Organic.Lingua project is organising an online workshop titled "Best Practices and Tools for multilingual online services". The workshop focuses on the Best Practices and Tools for multilingual online services, a case of the Organic.Edunet portal multilinguality. More info
  • A "Pledge for investments into a Linked Open Data infrastructure for Agricultural Development" has been called the following data and service providers; The Land Portal, AGRIS, Eldis, Global Rangelands, Organic Edunet, Plantwise Knowledge Bank,and Prodinra. More info
  • Research Data Alliance (RDA) launches a new Domain Repositories Interest Group,this group joins a dozen of other already existing groups. More info
  • The International Nuclear Information System (INIS) shares a case study where they using Google Search Appliance (GSA) to Search Digital Library Collections.More info
