From September 11-17, 2016, more than 800 data professionals and researchers from all disciplines and from across the globe convened in Denver, Colorado for International Data Week (IDW). The theme of this landmark event was ‘From Big Data to Open Data: Mobilizing the Data Revolution’.

The 8th RDA Plenary Meeting was organized as part of IDW from 15 to 17 September 2016 and hosted close to 70 working, interest and BoF group breakout sessions.  It also marked the launch of 2 new RDA Recommendations and the highlight of adoption cases of the various Recommendations across domain specific infrastructures such as the biomedical science, agriculture, forestry or ocean sciences infrastructures.
