AGRIS future development

Following the feedback coming from the AGRIS community (surveys, website feedback, etc.), some possible improvements for the AGRIS website have been identified. We would like to inform the community that all those improvements will be applied but not immediately. Currently, we are investing our energies in defining a new big vision for the AGRIS website, which will become a Web portal where users can register and create a customized view. If you have any suggestions for the future development of AGRIS or there is something you would be interested to see in the AGRIS website, please use the contact form (http://agris.fao.org/contact) to suggest your ideas. We will try to consider all the feasible users’ needs in the development of the system.

Take into account that all improvements already suggested will be included in the next AGRIS development, after the new vision of the system will be completed. Some of them refers to

  • colors of the interface,
  • more visibility to the advanced search (currently called “classical view”),
  • more filters in the result page (filter by serials, improvements of the filter by country, sorting by date of publication and title, etc.),
  • possibility to export selected records and not only top 250,
  • more visibility to the fulltext link in the mashup page (when available),
  • grouping mashup boxes by topic or type;
  • tips for labels like RDF or LODLIVE; amongst other features.
