Sixth LOD@AIMS Webinar with Irina Radchenko on "Introduction to the Linked Open Data" (Russian)

The AIMS Metadata Group of Interest is glad to announce the sixth and last Linked Open Data @ AIMS webinar entitled Introduction to the Linked Open Data. The session will take place on 14th February 2013 - 11:00am Rome Time - and will be presented by Irina Radchenko, Centre of Semantic Technologies, Higher School of Economics (Moscow, Russian Federation).

This event is part of the series of webinars Linked Open Data @ AIMS that will take place from December 2012 to February 2013. A total of 6 specialists will talk about Linked Open Data and the Semantic Web to the agricultural information management community. The webinars will be in the 6 languages used on AIMS - English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese and Russian.

The objective of Linked Open Data @ AIMS webinars is to help individuals and organizations to understand better the initiatives related to the Semantic Web that are currently taking place within the AIMS Communities of Practice.

Linked Data is proposed by Sir Tim Berners-Lee. It implements the Semantic Web approach for publishing, sharing and linking data obtained from the Web. The objective of this Webinar is to familiarize the audience with the concept of Linked Data. The Webinar will cover the five-star model of Open Data, developed by Sir Tim Berners-Lee. This model provides the transition from Open Data to Linked Open Data. Our Webinar will include the example of RDF-model application for Linked Open Data.

Irina Radchenko is Research Fellow at the Centre of Semantic Technologies, Higher School of Economics. Irina holds the Candidate of Science in System Analysis degree from Baltic State Technical University. She worked as Associate Professor of Information Systems and Computer Technology in  Baltic State Technical University. Her major research interests are focused on Open Knowledge, Open Science, Semantic Web, Linked Data, Open Data and the development of Intelligent Systems. She wrote 4 textbooks. She is a member of a team that create Russian Public Resource of Open Data in Science and Technology, which will be integrated into LOD-cloud.
