What is your relationship with agricultural information management standards, tools and services?
I have a Master in Food Science and Technology and a PhD in Agricultural and Food Economics from University of Bologna (Italy). The title of the PhD dissertation was “An assessment of the business value of traceability practices in the Italian fishery processing industry”. During 2008, I have been enrolled as Visiting Researcher at the University of Guelph (Canada). I have also worked as consultant for farms, food industries and governments for several years in traceability and marketing issues. Actually, I am part-time Marie Curie Post Doc fellow at Nofima (Norway) and co-owner of a new international agribusiness start up in Italy. The title of my Marie Curie Fellowship is “Innovative Methodologies for New Food Product Development: combining Sensory Science and Experimental Economics”. Current research interests regard topics in agrifood marketing, sensory marketing, food traceability and new food product development. Special interests include the combination of intrinsic and extrinsic factors on consumers’ product acceptance and food choice towards a novel food products and consumer testing methodologies. I also have strong interests in new food technologies, experimental design, discrete choice models with particular reference to choice experiments and experimental auctions.
