National Repository of Open Education Resources launched in India

14/08/2013

During the National Conference on ICT in School Education in New Delhi on 13th August, 2013, a 'National Repository of Open Education Resources (NROER)' was launched by Dr. M. M. Pallam Raju Minister Human Resource Development (HRD), Government of India.

The notable thing of the NROER is that it uses CC-BY-SA which permits the user to share, remix even to make commercial use of the work.

In the inagural speech at the conference during the launch, Mr. Shashi Taroor, Minister of State HRD had said that he had been lobbied by Wikimedia and other advocates of open educational resources for the use of CC-BY-SA rather than the CC-BY-SA-NC which is a more restrictive clause.
