AGRIS Launches New Interface with Updated Search Functionalities

The International Information System for Agricultural Science and Technology (AGRIS) strives to continuously find ways to improve the user experience while utilizing the platform. Accordingly, the AGRIS team is excited to announce the launch of a new AGRIS interface, which includes new search functionalities.

On the homepage of AGRIS, the new search functionalities now allow the user to refine the search by selecting the language and resource type. Within the search results, users now have the ability to refine the search even more with filters including the publication date, the ability to search for data from particular data providers and the possibility to filter records which have a full text link available.

The user can now also add query options to refine results searching in specific fields, like the document title, authors, the journal title, etc. Even more, once a particular record has been selected, there is now a “back” button available to utilize, keeping intact all of the search query options previously selected, making the overall search experience much more efficient.

Even more, the new interface makes it possible for data providers to access their personal, unique collection of data on their own individual page within AGRIS. This personal page has a specific URL attached, which allows data providers the new ability to embed their individual page from AGRIS into their respective websites. This new functionality will allow data providers the opportunity to increase visibility of their personal data. Please find a video tutorial about how to access these pages here.

The new AGRIS interface comes on the heels of the announcement of the new AGRIS Open Data Set Initiative, which will provide great opportunity to increase analysis of agricultural performance through the use of open data, and consequently help inform agricultural investment, innovation and policy to drive changes toward increasing sustainability in the agricultural sector, which matches the goal of living in a world with zero hunger.
