New Webinar@AIMS, HIMALDOC: A one-stop portal for Himalayan information resources

The AIMS team is pleased to announce the webinar “HIMALDOC: A one-stop portal for Himalayan information resources"

This webinar will present HIMALDOC repository based on INVENIO softwareThe webinar addresses publishers, librarians, information management specialists, software developers, (agricultural) journal editors, related data providers and other interested people.

Abstract

HIMALDOC, based on Invenio software, was developed by the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) as a tool for the Hindu Kush Himalayan (HKH) regional repository on sustainable mountain development. The HKH region is the source of 10 large Asian river systems. They provide water, ecosystem services, and the basis for livelihoods to more than 210 million people. Much research has been done on social and environmental issues in the HKH by scholars from different universities, regional and international research organizations, governments and UN bodies. But the scientific results and data are either not available online or scattered on different web pages. HIMALDOC aims to collect, harvest and make these resources accessible. The availability of such specific information resources and data through a single interface is crucial to further research, development and policy making.
